Two different start points — please read carefully.
Every employee is added to the EAP as soon as they join Flatpay. No probation requirement, no enrolment step, no waiting period.
Once you've successfully completed your probation, you'll be enrolled in both Bupa private medical insurance and the Medicash health cash plan. Your cover starts at the beginning of the month after your probation is confirmed. For example, if your probation is confirmed on 14 August, your cover will start on 1 September.

- 2Sign up with your Flatpay work email and a mobile number.
- 3Set a password, then log in at kota.io or download the Kota app.
- 4The EAP is there from day one; private medical and the cash plan appear in Kota once probation is passed.
- 5You'll also get welcome emails direct from Medicash (from no_reply@medicash.org) and from Bupa once your medical cover starts. If you don't see them, check your junk or spam folder and mark the sender as safe — your IT team can help if the emails are being blocked.

- NHS cash benefit — a cash payment if you choose to have eligible treatment on the NHS instead

- No sports club exclusions applied
Employee-only cover. Partners and children are not included on the medical scheme.
Moratorium underwriting: you don't fill in a medical questionnaire. Instead, conditions you've had symptoms of, medication for, treatment or advice about in the five years before you join aren't covered — but they can become eligible after two continuous years of cover with no symptoms, treatment or advice for that condition. Bupa confirms what's covered when you claim.
Money back on the everyday healthcare you already pay for. Pay for treatment, snap the receipt in the My Medicash app, and the money lands in your account the day after Medicash processes the claim.

Family cover on the cash plan
Children are covered free. Up to four dependent children, up to their 16th birthday, or their 24th if in full-time education. Each child can claim half the adult allowance on receipted benefits. Children aren't covered for dental accident, chiropody or health screening. Add children yourself in the My Medicash app — no paperwork needed.
Partners can be added as a voluntary, employee-paid upgrade to Dual cover, any time, by payroll deduction or direct debit. Kota will confirm the cost.
